Turkey Day!

Happy turkey day to everyone! I love Thanksgiving it is my favorite holiday because it the onley holiday I get to see all of my family at the same time! We all gather at my house and we always make dumplings. Its a tradition and I really love them. We make a lot of things but people bring a lot of stuff too, so it is a regular feast. All of my cousins are boys and grown up, but they are still fun to hang around.

Favourite Things

Our class is doing a blog over our favourite things. I am blogging about my favorite room in my house, my bedroom. I just redid it over the summer. THere are three walls blue and one wall green. The wall that is green has my bed against it. there are blue bubbles all over it. Also on that wall there is a shelf  toward the ceiling. It has all of my crazy softball socks hanging from the shelf.
I love my room because it is the only quiet place in my house. I have a loud obnoxious brother so sometimes that is a good thing. I like to hang out and listen to all of my music on my Ipod touch. I also like my room because of the coziness of it. I have a reading chair with a lamp I like to sit in and read thick, long   books.
As you can see, I love my room and it is my favourite room in the house. I love it and hope I never have to move out, even though I know I have to. I looooooooooove my room. Check out this link for info on decor.

E.T.? White House Says No Way!

The White House  has made a very unusual declaration. They say that there is no extraterrestrial beings out there. On their website they added a feature that allows people to sign a petition that administrators have to respond  if enough people sign. More than 5,000 people signed say that the government should forget all knowledge of aliens and extraterrestrial beings. Another 12,000 signed a petition seeking acknowledgment that of other beings contacting the human race. In response, Phil Larson of the White House department of science and technology Wrote that we have no evidence of non-human beings live in outer-space o that any aliens have made contact with the human race. Although many scientists and mathematicians believe that the odds are very high that there is some kind of life out there. I mean there trillions and trillions of stars that could be planets sustaining life. Even though the odds of making contact with non-humans is against the odds, it doesn't mean it is out of the question.

Cyberbullying

 Here is the situation:

Eric gets a lot of pressure from his parents to do well in school. Other kids in school tease him because he works so hard but still gets bad poor scores. He gets instant messages and text messages during the day and at night about his poor grades. The word “loser” is in most of them, and the language becomes stronger every day. Today he received a text from a number he did not recognize, with a photo of his body with a turkey’s head. A thought bubble above the picture reads: “Why am I so STUPID? What a *!*#&** I am.” Eric thinks Alexis, the most popular girl in the eighth grade, is behind the message.

1. What forms of cyberbullying did the students use on Eric? What is your evidence?
Students have used anonymity, cyberstalking, and harassment.

2. How do you think Eric feels? What elements of this situation make him feel this way?

I am sure that Eric is felling scared, stupid and a little freaked out because everyone is telling him he is stupid and are giving him threatening comments.
3. Do you think Eric should tell his parents about the cyberbullying?

Yes he can even print or save the messages and show the police or the principal of the school  he goes to.

What I Think of Tamales

Tonight, I just had my first tamalae. It was so good! As you would assume I have never had a tamale before because I live in Nebraska. The fisrt time I saw it I thought you eat the cornhusk, but my mom told me that you don't want to do that. So I opened it up and found this really gross looking brown squishy stuff in it. It looked like refried beans but it was really chiken ans masa. I thought I did not want to eat it, but I decided to try it and I liked it. My Brother tryed it also, but hated it!

Spent

Play Spent.

This game makes you feel so depressed because all of this stuff is happening in real life, sometimes even in your own town. I made so many horrible choices like stealing, and making money more important than my child. I made it through the month but just barely and I think I might of killed my kid physically and mentally. If this is really what is happening to people in the U S, I cant imagine places in the rest of the world.
